Summary:
The International Symposium on Earthquake and Tsunami Disaster Mitigation in Latin America was held on March 7, 2014 in Tokyo, Japan.
25 researchers from Peru, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Nicaragua, and El Salvador participated
in the symposium as well as the project members and sponsors from Japan.
The total number of participants was 135 including Ambassadors from Peru, Chile, Ecuador,
Nicaragua to Japan and representatives from Colombia.
The symposium was quite successful for understanding and future research collaboration
in the field of natural disaster mitigation among Latin American countries and Japan.
