SATREPS Peru-Chile-Japan Symposium on Earthquake and Tsunami in Tacna

Overview:
 The research members of both SATREPS-Peru and SATREPS-Chile gathered in Tacna city in the south of Peru, near the border with Chile on August 20. They conducted field survey of a high tsunami risk tsunami zone, the coast of Boca Del Rio. The press conference was held in the early morning of August 21 at El Meson Hotel. More than 10 local press agencies attended the conference.
 The workshop of the two SATREPS projects was held with the participation of representatives from CENEPRED and INDECI of Peru and ONEMI of Chile as well as SATREPS researchers. In the afternoon, the public symposium of earthquake and tsunami disaster mitigation along the Pacific Rim was held at Tacna Private University with the participation of general public and a representative from UNESCO as well.
