Memorandum:
Disaster Risk Management Seminar was organized at Peru Congress on September 16, 2010.
Welcome speech was given by Mr. Luis Gonzales for the long-term relationship between Peru and Japan, especially for the support by Japanese government for the construction of hospital, schools and many infrastructures. The importance of the seminar was also mentioned since the concerns with the earthquake disaster in Peru had been increasing after the Chile earthquake in 2010.
Opening address was made by Sunichiro Megata, Japanese Ambassador in Peru, about the meaning to have the seminar of Earthquake and Tsunami disaster mitigation technology in Japan at the Peru Congress. It was also mentioned that the interaction between Japanese and Peruvian cultures through JICA was very important to Japanese society.
Prof. Yamazaki, and Prof. Kuroiwa had the lectures about the Earthquake Disaster Prevention Technology in Japan, and Seismic Hazard in Peru, respectively.
Then, Mr. Aquino, Mr. Sakaguchi, and Mr. Nakao had the presentations about the risk management, earthquake early warning system in Japan, and the JICA activities in Peru about the disaster prevention, respectively.
Cesar Zumaeta Flores, Chairman of Peru Congress, closed the seminar for stating the importance in reducing the Earthquake and Tsunami disaster risks in Peru.
After the seminar, the speaker communicated each other and exchanged the information over the piscosour.
This seminar was also in the Peruvian newspapers.
