Stability of Running Vehicle under Seismic Motion and Lateral Winds using
Using an advanced driving simulator, stability of running vehicle under seismic motion and lateral winds was investigated. Seismic response analysis of a vehicle under various seismic motions was first carried out. Then the response of the vehicle model was applied to the simulator and virtual experiments were carried out for examinees and their driving operations under earthquake motion were recorded. Similar analysis and experiments were also carried out for strong lateral winds. The result of the study will be applied for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) as well as traffic control of expressway systems.
